About HISP Ghana

We are a leading organisation in Ghana's health information systems landscape and a member of the global Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) network.

Who we are

HISP Ghana is a limited liability company with a public health mandate, working where technology, health systems and sustainable development meet. We deliver digital solutions that advance health equity and improve decision-making in Ghana and across West Africa.

The company was incorporated in July 2022; our team's work on Ghana's health information systems, within the global HISP network, goes back more than a decade. Our developers, analysts, domain experts and public health professionals work from our head office in Ho, Volta Region, and our office in Accra, and support health programmes across the country.

What we do

We design, implement and support health information systems built on DHIS2, from the first design to training, interoperability and long-term support: see our services.

Growth since 2023

Between 2023 and 2025 we expanded our work with national and international partners. We led the enhancement of the Child Health Tracker, aligning it with international digital health guidelines and improving immunisation data workflows. We built primary health care performance dashboards and data use tools for district-level decisions. We adapted Digital Adaptation Kits for maternal health, family planning and HIV services.

Our long-standing collaboration within the global HISP network is now a formal frame agreement, covering joint work on DHIS2 innovation, regional DHIS2 Academies, the Aggregate Data Exchange (ADEx) project and national data quality improvement. We integrated biometric verification into the DHIS2 eTracker, enabling biometric tracking of vaccine delivery across more than 580 facilities. We connected DHIS2 to the national civil registration and identity systems, to bring civil registration to hard-to-reach areas.
